Truck cranes
KTA-18
KTA-18 of load-lifting capacity 16t with two- or three section boom, hook lifting height 9,5-20,3 m, outreach 2,85-18,2 m on mobile chassis KrAZ (65101, 63221, 65053), KamAZ (53215, 53228, 53229, 43253), MAZ (533702).

Operating mechanisms of the crane have individual drives. The winch and slewing mechanism are actuated by hydraulic motors. Boom is lifted and its sections are extended by hydraulic cylinders. Pumps and hydraulic motors are actuated by pressure fluid (oil) delivered by two pumps.

The pump is rotated by gear box cardan shaft. Power take-off gear is fixed to the truck gear box or is set inside it directly.

The pump starts sucking a working fluid from the oil tank at the moment of power take-off gear is turned on.

Working fluid is supplied by pressure to the outriggers and suspencion interlocking mechanism as well as to the winch hydromotors and slewing mechanism. Working fluid (oil) is transmitted to the hydrocylinders of lifting-extending a boom (depending on two-way valve position).

Reducer and a drum are actuated when the oil is supplied to the hydraulic motor and at that moment load lifting or turning a crane starts.

The winch and slewing mechanism have brakes which are released when fluid is supplied to the hydraulic motors.

Boom lifting and extending a middle section is carried out by hydraulic cylinders. Crane "shifting on" to outriggers is provided by hydraulic cylinders.

The crane may perform the following operations (in order of natural priority):

  • rear axles spring suspensions (springs) locking;
  • crane "shifting on" to outriggers, extended as well as in transport position;
  • boom lifting-lowering (inclination angle change);
  • crane slewing part (superstructure) rotation;
  • load (hook) lifting-lowering;
  • boom length change (telescopic movement of section);
  • crane "shifting from" outriggers;
  • chassis springs unlocking.

Load lifting-lowering change may be performed simultaneously with boom length change or turning upper part of crane.

Boom lifting-lowering change by performed simultaneously with boom length change.
